In a blockbuster deal, Dirk Nowitzki was dealt by the Toronto Raptors to the Denver Nuggets for Grant Hill, Shawn Marion, and Nene. Both owners came out of the deal happy with what they got and feel they each got the upper hand in the deal. With the Nuggets looking for a big man and the Raptors searching for the missing piece at small forward, this deal is sure to jumpstart both teams' seasons. Grant Hill commented on the trade with, "I've got a really thick coat that I like, and Denver just wasn't cold enough to wear it. I mean, it's made out of some really comfortable seal fur. Come to think of it, I never wore it because I wasn't allowed to in Denver. Oh well. At least Canada doesn't have any laws, you know, cause it's barely a country."
Ellis Sets Single Game Assist Record

Monta Ellis was involved in a recent trade this past week that ended with him landing in the nation's capital to play alongside Kevin Durant and the rest of the Wizards. Ellis started point guard in his first official game with the team and it seemed to be a brilliant move by coach Tom Turner. Monta Ellis ended the game having 16 points, 6 boards, and a whopping 17 assists in Toronto. "Well he was the best fit to play the spot all week in practices. He's just an amazing athlete and basketball player. Plus he probably got some help from those Air Canada rims that everybody keeps calling the softest in the league. Even though the rest of the arena is junk, I love the rims. Good thing I won't be traveling back there anytime soon though." Tom Turner said at an early Saturday press conference. The Wizards will travel to MSG to play the Knicks in their next game.
