Apollo Thunderstorm Finds His Home In Denver
Apollo Thunderstorm has been welcomed onto the Denver Nuggets staff since his firing by Toronto. In Denver, he will working in a program that suits his style more efficiently. True, he won't be in contact with any players, but as the Head of Custodial Services at the stadium he will be in a position that he can feel comfortable at, albeit at a 95% paycut from his salary in Toronto. Apollo commented, "Have you ever seen a toilet flush at a mile high? Well it's not a pretty sight. Gravity's just not on man's side at those altitudes. Still, I should do pretty well with plumbing, considering all the crap I was dealing with in Toronto!"
To WIn , Or Not To Win. That Is The Question.
And the Nuggets answered that question with a big W against the New Orleans Hornets. John Wall had a double double with 16 points and 13 assists. Carmelo Anthony came through with 36 points. Al Jefferson had a season high 13 rebounds, which is good for the single game record. Coach Núñez had this to say, "We played our best, and tonight that was good enough. Our defense allowed a relaxed environment forour shooters. The inside game was working well, and they always say to play inside-out O. The out never game, but we didn't need it I guess. Overall, good game. It shows that we have the skill, it just needs molding." Following the game, J.R. Smith was traded for Kyle Korver.
Nuggets Ball On Pacers
The Denver Nuggets defied expectations from most sources and got the big W over the Indiana Pacers, 88-61. Carmelo Anthony stole the show with 45 points on the game, a TNBA record. Tim Duncan came up a solid game with 10 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks. John Wall did his thing with 11 assists, as well as Chauncey Billups with 9 assists. Manny Núñez had this to say, "We were the underdogs, but sometimes a little lowering in self esteem can help you try that much harder." The Denver Nuggets look forward to many games the likes of this one.
The Draft
The Denver Nuggets are more than pleased with the team they drafted, snagging John Wall for his rookie season.
